There has been so much that has happened since the last time
I wrote a blog it’s hard to imagine summarizing it all in one post. I guess I’ll just try to split it up into
parts so I don’t make it too long and bore everyone. We finished up our month in Viile Tecii by
going to a few church services on Sunday and then taking the morning and
afternoon off before leaving on Monday night. On Monday a couple of us walked to a lake nearby and tried to set up our
hammocks but no trees were close enough to make it work. We ended up settling for a walking bridge,
but as soon as we got everything setup and were ready to relax, someone came by
and told us to leave. So we sat around
the lake and I camped out under a large tree and just enjoyed the peace and
quiet….it’s a rare occurrence when you can just sit, be still, and listen to
the sound of nothing going on around you.

That afternoon we had our favorite meal where we all make
our own pizzas and cook them in a brick oven outside.  It was a fun last meal together…both our
teams, the families we were staying with, and a few other random people.

Look at all those toppings…who said World Racer’s don’t eat well?

After our meal we said bye to everyone that was there and
got ready to leave. It was a time filled
with tears but a joy knowing we had left each other in better places than when
we first met. There is also a chance we
will see some of the people in a few weeks at the Awakening conference that AIM
is putting on…so that’s exciting! After
saying our goodbyes, we loaded up the bus and headed out for and overnight ride
to Bucharest. We picked up two other
teams along the way and headed to where team Abandon was staying in Bucharest…and
that’s where we are currently. Our entire
squad is together this month on the outskirts of Bucharest at a place called
Casa Shalom. We are going to be staying
here until we leave on September 21st for the Awakening conference.
