Alright, so I don’t have a lot of time but I want to
actually follow up on what I wrote last time and post more about training
camp. I am currently on a cross-country
trip with a friend I met in Haiti and we rarely have internet access. That makes it a little more difficult to post
blogs and answer emails, but I’ve got some time and thought this would be a
good opportunity.

Within the 30+ people that are leaving on June 1st
to embark on the World Race, there are 5 smaller teams of 6 to 7 people in them. The members of these teams will travel, work
and live together all the time. Let me
introduce you to my team with a little story… Toward the middle to latter part
of training camp we started team building exercises to help determine which
people would be placed together. After
many rounds and a lot of discussions the teams were finalized and announced. The team I’m on got a reputation as team
“fantasy” because during one of the team building exercises that had most of
our final team members on it, we came up with a unique story to act out. I know someone videotaped it and there is
copy out there somewhere on the internet….not sure if I want to post a link to
it though. Anyway, immediately after we
were placed on our teams we were given a few hours and told to go “make a
memory”…in whatever way we wanted.

Let me give you two pictures…
This is just before leaving to make a memory.

This is just after returning from our adventure.

Let’s just say, I think we accomplished the goal…I can’t see us forgetting about this for a long time…whether we want to or not.  The next day each team picked a name to describe themselves and their mission.  Our team name is N.E.O.N. which stands for Now Everyone Owns Nothing.  We picked this name for a couple reasons, the first being because of the colorful outfits that you can see in the picture above.  The deeper meaning behind the name stands as a motto for us abandoning everything to concentrate on God and to serve others.   We want to focus on the calling we have received from God and get rid of all other distractions in order to spread the Gospel.

I am so excited to be a part of this team.  We all have different strengths and personalities, but I am already seeing how we will grow together to become a family.  Please pray for the community we are cultivating and that everyone would raise their needed support so they can go on this mission trip.

So here are some names and links to everyone’s blogs…
