So we had an amazing opportunity to take a short boat tour on one of the rivers that borders Thailand and Burma. If you have seen the last Rambo movie “Rambo 4” it was filmed on this river. We didn’t see Rambo! However, the purpose was to spend time and pray for the country, it’s people and it’s situation. Our contact Ray often takes groups on this little trip. So here’s what went down on the river:
As I stepped into the boat I asked the Lord to show me His heart today. What was he feeling for Burma in order so I have an idea of what to pray. As we motored on down river, it started to rain. It got cloudy. I sensed the Lord speaking to me that just like the clouds and rain, he is there over the country. The rain symbolized the grace that He had for everyone in Burma. Sure there are those who are persecuted, raped, murdered, starved, and hunted down. But he was speaking to me more about the soldiers there. He has grace for them and their actions. He has grace for those who are forced into the army and are forced to do these horrible deeds to survive. He spoke about all of the “assignments” of when soldiers are required to use rape as a weapon of manipulation. He has grace for those who have no concience anymore towards their actions and consequences of them.
I was taken aback of these words. It’s so easy to mad, angry and frustrated with the inhumanity 20 yards from me. I knew that the Lord was showing me something that many of us don’t pray for when we “pray for Burma”. Do we pray for grace? Do we pray for mercy on those who are doing the persecuting? Are we asking God to deliver the oppressors?
God loves Burma. He has not forgotten that chaotic nation. He loves each person within it’s borders just as much as those who have escaped the tyranny. JESUS LOVES BURMA!!
My heart was checked today. My heart was transformed today. My heart hurt for what was hurting God’s. I have met many Burmese people on this World Race trip. The Lord has laid Burma on my heart. I had the chance to go there as well. To step on it’s soil. I’ll share that in another blog.
PLEASE continue to pray for Burma. Pray for it’s lost and suffering. Pray for it’s tyrants. One day every knee will bow and every tonque will confess Jesus is Lord. Let’s pray that those in Burma do before it becomes undeniable and it’s too late. Let’s pray for them to see God’s love for them RIGHT NOW! Let’s pray for us as “free” men and women to wake up and press into supporting those in Burma through prayer. Burma NEEDS AMERICA (Canada is not exempt).
Father, break our hearts for what breaks yours. Let us see the unseen. Let us see what you see! Be with those this very moment who are being raped, being cut up, being killed. I Pray you deliver those who are running. I pray for those who are “safe” over the border in Thailand and India. Father, let your people feel your love and comfort. Help us to understand your heart and how to help these people. Lord, I pray for the soldiers. Raise up an army withing the most notorious army in the world. And army of God within the Burmese army. Give those men a consience so they would have some glimpse of remorse today before they act. I pray for the snipers who are about to shoot. I pray for those who are about to throw that grenade. I pray for those who are giving those orders. Father be with your children today. Give them a hope and a future that you promise. Show them freedom!! God, I don’t know what to pray most of the time. Show me what to pray for. Put Burma on my heart to “just pray”! I praise your mighty name. You are my all in all. You are all Burma needs. You have everything under control. There is nothing the enemy can do to change your plan. Speak to the world, father. Show the world your strength and your glory through this mess in Burma. I thank you for today. I thank you for those I have come across on my journey. I pray that continue to be my strength and my guide. Be with your people! In the name of Jesus ChristI pray…AMEN!!
