Okay, so we’re currently here in the beautiful country of Thailand in south east Asia. The plan for the next 2 and a half weeks or so is for our squad to be split up into different ministry sites. There will be 3 teams of girls heading to the major cities and some islands to build relationships with the young women caught up in the notorious sex trade here in Thailand. The 2 guy teams will be heading to different ministry areas as well in western Thailand for other types of ministry.
So this brings me to this blog as a start of a series I’m hoping to present as I spend the next few weeks ministering to the Thai people. I have been blessed with a camera from my good friends Steve and Jo back in Manitoba so my plan is to have pictures for you as well.
Today is what I will call D-Day (Departure Day) minus 3. We depart the capital city, Bangkok here on the 11th. So I’ll be giving you the rundown starting today. This will essentially be my journal for this month. So please be patient as I don’t know when I’ll get internet time or even a chance to organize myself. So here we go…
The plan is to depart here on September 11th and ride the night bus to a city in Northern Thailand called Chaing Mai. From there we will meet our contact and begin our adventures presenting the Gospel and sharing Christ’s love with the people we encounter. Rusty (our former squad leader) served in this location last year so it’ll be exciting, especially for him, as we see the foundation that was laid before us. I’m personally excited for the culture immersion, meeting new passionate Christ followers, and the opportunity to fully walk in my gifts. That is all I know at this point, and so that is where I’ll leave you till next time. God Bless!!
