Lucky #7, the Grand Finale, the end of the journey…

My time in Malawi has truly been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I have left as a different person than when I arrived. Amidst a deep search of who I am in Christ, I have some new understandings. I have met my Father. I know what love is. I have been broken for Africa. I understand the battle we as Christ Followers are in. I have seen REVIVAL. I am convicted. I am encouraged. I am inspired. I had a month in my life’s journey where my world just makes sense. I know that I am a Beloved Child.

What made it so special:

Pastor Duncan. A pastor in a struggling place in his ministry, his living situation, and his heart to serve the orphans. In his many attempts to reach the outside world with emails to churches, organizations, and programs, we were blessed to receive his invitation to visit him. He welcomed us with open arms, open heart, and an open ministry. He is a man of God striving to follow and trust the Lord in every step of his life. A true blessing to see a man persevere in his attempt to help those less fortunate than himself.

Pastors Kaline and Rester. Two brothers who are serious about advancing the Gospel to the lost of the Magowi region. They have started their own ministry and are working hard at planting churches. They are 2 dedicated men whom the Lord has called and placed a special anointing upon their lives. I thank God for the opportunity to minister alongside them and see their work firsthand.

Moses. A young Form 4 student from Australian Private Secondary School. He has inspired me in my searching for the greater things. He has recently accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior of his life. He is a vibrant leader in his school and his hunger to learn is beautiful. He always has questions and he challenged me in so many areas of my faith that I took for granted. As he matures he will be a man of God with a great calling upon his life.

Pastor Harrison. A man after God’s own heart. Harrison is a man with a great calling upon his life. He trains and guides pastors not by the book, but by 100% example. He isn’t one of those professors or instructors who teaches and grades. He teaches and joins. A true apostle. His wisdom and experience is something to be admired and desired. He always has something to do and when he isn’t ‘working” he’s ministering to his Trainees or guests. He always has something to share. I also truly thank God for this divine meeting of a true man of God.

Harvesters International Ministries. There aren’t enough words to explain how much I have been challenged, convicted, encouraged, and inspired by the 10 or so pastors we served alongside with Harvesters. Each person has a unique calling upon their lives to minister, evangelize, and disciple their country mates. These men aren’t after positions due to salary or job placement. The fact is that none of that exists. These men have families, a livelihood of farming, tailoring, or shop keeping as well as full time ministry, which includes their schooling. These men have “got it”. They know what it means to labor for the Gospel. They never complain, they always encourage. They never say it’s too hard; they go into the most dangerous conditions. I will forever be a changed man due to the week serving alongside such dedicated men.

I am now heading to Mozambique for a week of ministry. Malawi is a hard place to say goodbye to. This year is about moving on, so that’s my new challenge. Everyday was a new memory to cherish and a lesson to take to heart. I have no doubt that Jesus loves Malawi and smiles down everyday as he watches his Sons and Daughters be obedient in their calling to love the sinner, heal the sick, clothe the naked, and show the Way to the lost.

I’m now in transition, to another place foreign to me. Please continue to pray for my week in Mozambique and then my next month and a half in India. May God Bless you and your endeavors this summer!
