Sundays sermon was about jumping without hesitation… jumping on board with God’s plan for us. Jason used the story of Noah in Genesis 6 and 7 as an example. Noah was told by God to build an ark (big freakin boat, 450 feet long) to hold his family and 2 of every animal… we all know the story right. The point of the sermon and the story is that when God speaks to us we should ACT on it or JUMP, not pray on it for 2 weeks and wait it out to see if it’s really what God wants… or wait and see if someone else can just do it. It’s not easy guys, and sometimes it sucks to be honest. I could relate to the sermon and story of Noah… I think it’s a common feeling that God cannot use us, it sure is how I felt. I didn’t want to go on the World Race, it sounded cool, but “wasn’t for me”. I had a career and was remodeling my house. So, to be honest, my jump was more like when your a kid learning to jump off the diving board and you creep toward the end and you wait and wait and wait and finally your dad just nudges you a bit and you fall in. That was me. But let me tell you… the waters warm. I’m happier than I’ve ever been now and God is good. He provides. I’ve had tons of people telling me how proud they are of me, or that I’m inspiring, or am doing something they could never do. I’m not anybody to be proud of… having God work in and through us is something to be proud of. Inspiring? Read the word… that’s inspiring. God doesn’t ask us all to JUMP into the World Race, or missions even. It may be building a relationship with a neighbor and sharing the Word with them, or volunteering at a soup kitchen…. the list is endless. Just ask the man upstairs, then wait for His answer.
