War is stupid…they love M&M’s too.
Most people yearn for life to be simpler. To just be able to spend more time with the ones they love, and do the things they enjoy with those people.
Sadly, entering China I expected to meet communists. I expected to meet the holders of our debt. I would represent a different way of living and that would threaten theirs.
I was standing in a local market one day, as I stood in line to buy my M&M’s a woman looked at them and smiled at me, and I noticed she was holding some too.
China is not full of Communists. It is full of people. People who love what we love. They love going home to see their families. The things that separate us are not nearly as strong as the ties that bind us together.
I watched 3 chinese military men all laugh and joke with each other outside the capital. I thought of Ft. Walton beach when I see our wonderful servicemen all enjoying each others company. And I thought. I bet these 2 groups on opposite sides of the world would get along very well.
Dear China, Thank you.
