This blog has 3 small independent yet mutually beneficial parts…
Part 1–Questions that stuck with me…
1. In my Christianity I go around the world to the most broken of peoples, I see the blind healed, the lame walk, the deaf hear and even the dead are raised. Miracles are just part of who I am. What does your Christianity do?
2. Why do you do that?
Part 2–The endless Ocean
We live a life defined by limits, by boundaries, and by edges. This is how our brain forms information. There is the beginning, and there is the end. There is the left, there is the right. Something is better, because it lasts longer, its larger or the degree of intensity is more acute. We know good, because we know bad.
We sang a song at camp that said something to the effect of, the angels are swimming in the ocean of God's love, and they have never seen the shore, they are always seeing new sides of his face.
Scientists say that space is expanding at the speed of light, if you got in a space shuttle and flew the speed of light, you would never hit the end.
This concept portrays that God being infinite, posses the ability to get better, and better, and better without ever ending, and needing no bad to define the good.
One day we will swim in an ocean that never ends, and only gets better. God is an adventure that NEVER ends but increases in Goodness. What if its actually true, and oh man, what if it's possible?
Part 3– Allegory (i did not come of with this concept, i think stole it, i just don't know where)
A stealthy man with a dominant physique quietly slips into the place marked "Private". He is on a mission, his eyes burn with a passion and endless determination. Tonight he would fulfill the mission he has dreamed of. As he passed by the cages marked with name tags for each animal, he had only one thing in mind, absolute success.
He sings a little song to himself as he opens each cage, beckoning each creature to come. One by one, slowly, they are intoxicated by his song. They muster just enough trust to emerge from enclosures built to mimic authenticity. No more will this be there home.
With Freedom in hand he will lead them to the places in which they belong. Joy will be there new anthem. No longer required to ACT like a particular creature, because they now, ARE that creation. Free to be exactly what they are is the new reality. No longer striving to accomplish or prove identity, they indeed are FREE.
The man smiles and says quietly, "it is finished".
