"Do you want to know me?"
"Yes!"
"My name is Mary."
"Yes!"
"I come from America. Of course I do, do, do."
"Jesus, Jesus my Savior. I love Jesus, of course I do, do, do."
We sing this song pretty much everyday. If you ask nicely, I might be able to show you when I get home in a couple weeks.
Okay, so why'd I write this blog?
I just wanted to write a quick blog about what we are doing here in Kenya.
SpiritROAR's final month of the Race is being spent at Challenge Farm.
From the Challenge Farm's website…
"Challenge Farm is a non-profit organization, located in Kitale, Kenya, that strives to provide better lives and more opportunities for children living on the streets of Kitale.
The lives of these abandoned children are filled with violence, drugs, broken relationships and broken promises. They live with no responsibilities, no boundaries and no direction. Most of them are addicted as much to aimlessness as they are to sniffing glue and kerosene. They live in a world without love, without hope, without a reason to live."
Challenge Farm takes kids off the streets, houses them, feeds them, educates them, and teaches them about Jesus.
Coming to Challenge Farm was like a breath of fresh air.
Don't get me wrong, I loved last month in Kigali, Rwanda. We preached, A LOT, and did house to house visits.
Oh, but I missed me some kids!
To be honest, I'd much rather go run around in circles with 7 year olds than hang out with adults, about 95% of the time.
Along with teaching some of the kids skits to perform, I've been painting.
Walls, fence posts, my skin, my hair, my clothes, my shoes…
Anyway…
We leave this Thursday for Nairobi and spend a week there doing our final debrief.
Holy, what?
Yeah, my Race is about done. Thanks for your support. Reading my blogs. I don't know how I feel about it ending, but I'm sure I'll write some final hoorah blog in the coming days.
Oh, and if you want to sponsor a kid on Challenge Farm – check out the website! http://challengefarm.org/
