"The Waiting Place… for people just waiting.
Waiting for a train to go
or a bus to come, or a plane to go
or the mail to come, or the rain to go
or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow
or waiting around for a Yes or No
or waiting for their hair to grow.
Everyone is just waiting.
Waiting for the fish to bite
or waiting for wind to fly a kite
or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake
or a pot to boil, or a Better Break
or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants
or a wig with curls, or Another Chance.
Everyone is just waiting."
Oh, the Places You'll Go, Dr. Seuss

Ever realize that all you're doing is just waiting? Waiting to get out of work, waiting to find the perfect spouse, waiting for God to reveal his plan for your life?

I signed up for the World Race in August of last year. I knew the World Race what was next. Needless to say, this past semester was rough and this current semester is just the same. The anticipation might kill me. Sadly, it took me reading Francis Chan's book Forgotten God to realize that I was obsessed with God's long term plan for my life, that I was missing the daily ways I could be Jesus in the time and place that I am in right now.

So that is my prayer, that Jesus' light will shine through me during the responsibilities and preparation that these coming months hold.

One of my biggest fears is to come to the end of my life and realize that I didn't really live at all because I was waiting for something better, safer, or more secure. I refuse to live a life of waiting. I plan to live intentionally and love unconditionally, and that starts right now.

On a side note, this Friday, the 27th of January, I'm having a benefit concert to raise money for the World Race at 7 pm. Performing will be: Gospel Choir, Jamie Crowll, Anita Peete, JUMP Drama Ministries, and Sarah Troxler. I'm asking for a $5 suggested donation but give what you can! I still have to raise $1,240.50 to meet my first deadline of $3,500 and I hope to do that by the end of the month.

So until next time, bloggites. (I've decided to call people who read my blog, bloggites)

P.S.S. I seriously doubt Thailand will look like this in January,
