We had a great opportunity this past weekend to go on a retreat to Lake Atitlan. Google it, because it's spectacular. We stayed at a really awesome hostel called La Iguana Perdida right on this lake surrounded by mountains, three of them volcanos. We had dozens of activities that we could choose to do, and we had half of Friday and all of Saturday in which to do them- cliff jumping, hiking one of the volcanos, visiting various towns around the lake, massages, and many more.

I didn't do any of these things because I got sick Friday morning. Because of this, I stayed at the hostel pretty much the whole weekend, except for a half an hour where I went with a group to the hotel next door for hot chocolate and snacks. It was so frustrating! I was planning on hiking the volcano (an all day hike), doing some swimming. But all of those plans were brought to an abrupt halt when I arrived at the hostel with no energy and a sore throat.

But, as usual, the Lord had a better plan for the weekend than I did. Turns out I had some identity issues that I needed to work on with Him. So he literally made it so I couldn't leave all day. On top of that, my Nook wasn't working, so I couldn't even read any of my books. So I read my Bible, journaled, rested, and watched a few movies. And, even though it was somewhat uneventful, I had a fantastic weekend.
