I visited a church today where some little guys in third grade received bibles. Then afterward they all sat at the altar for a short teaching. It was great. There were some very funny comments made by some of them as they were asked questions. Joy and laughter fell over the church. They weren’t made to not speak or shushed for their silly comments. They were embraced as who they are: children. It reminded me of how Jesus is with children. He loves them and welcomes them to sit at His feet and just be with Him; and be who they are. He embraces them in His spirit, in His heart. And one can feel that. When a church embraces children and takes time for them it is so encouraging because it’s a reflection of how God is with them too. A church, whether in a building or not, can impact little hearts in a huge way; so let’s give them a good representation of who their Father and Jesus are. We can learn a lot from kids!
Sudan
I have had Sudan on my heart for over a year now, wondering am I to go, when am I to go.
An opportunity has come to help an orphanage called Dreamland Children’s Home in Yei, South Sudan. The dates are Oct. 19th – Dec. 7th (soon!). The orphanage is home to about 100 children ages 5-16.
They are in need for people to come work with them, teach them,
and simply love on them. This ministry is with a well-respected A.I.M. (Adventures in Missions) contact in South Sudan. The opportunity has come up quickly and the dates to leave are rather soon I know. Currently there are 3 other people besides me wanting to go, but we each need help raising the funds.
