I’m reading the book 127 Hours and I’ve seen the movie too.  During one of his last days of being stuck in the canyon and pretty much on his way to certain death, he has a vision.  I think it is so awesome that when he was at the point of giving up, of realizing he was going to die that he had the vision.  I think with God sometimes it’s in those times that He shows up with a ray of sunshine in the complete darkness.  In this vision he sees himself in a living room playing with a little boy.  He recognizes that it seems to be his future home and that it’s his son.  He’s putting him on his shoulders and sees that he has the stump for an arm.  in the book he says this vision changed everything for him.  It gave him hope that just maybe he was going to make it out and live.  Now he could have easily thought I’m crazy, barely alive so this must just be hallucinations and nothing more.  But, he knew it was more because it gave his heart hope.  The other day I had a vision where I was in a hospital giving birth.  Ha.  As I’m going through something right now, this ray of sunshine gave me hope.  Don’t be afraid to ask for a ray in moments of darkness.   And remember them.
