As I sit here at home I cannot even think of words to describe training camp. It was an experience that I will never forget. I went there expecting one thing and got something completely different. One of the teachings we had by Ron Walborn was that we should not go into this with expectations for it can result in disappointment. This experience was emotional yet spiritual growing, I learned so much about myself as a person that I would have never learned if I did not go.
One of the most valuable things that I learned is that no matter what we as humans do God still loves us. I was having a battle within myself feeling like I was not worthy of going out and doing his work. It was a hard realizing that God does love me and he does want to use me. Not only me, He wants to use each and every one of us that were at training camp. He has great plans for us all.
Words of encouragement for us all going on this mission: In 1st Thessalonians 5:12-18 it says, "Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Do not be afraid for God will take care of us all! He has plans for all of us as individuals, each one of them being different. Even though I went into training camp feeling like I could not be used because of feeling broken inside it is not true. I cannot wait to get out there and fight for God to help give hope to those who have lost it!
Even though I cannot go into much detail about what happened at training camp for there will be those going after me I cannot ruin it for them. Just know that it is an experience that will change your life and you will not regret it!
