During our short time in Guatemala we had the chance to visit two different ministries.  The first ministry was the God’s Child Project.  We visited their school in Antigua that serves 150 children.  This project serves the poorest of the poor.  The facility is more than just a school, it is a safe haven for the children and their families.  When we got their I was paired up with Mallorie and we were sent to the first grade classroom.  The children were so happy to see us.  They were just desperate for love and attention.  We helped out the teacher for awhile then went to recess where I spent my time pushing kids on the swing set.  We were absolutely tackled by children wanted hugs when it was time to leave.  This project does amazing things besides provide schooling for children.  They also provide medical care and build houses for these families.  However this project embraces all beliefs and does not believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven.  Please be in prayer that everyone involved in this project would seek out Christ and come to know the truth.

The other ministry we worked with was with the local hospital.  We volunteered in the children’s ward with mentally and physically challenged children.  It was emotionally draining and heart breaking to see these children in metal cribs and in wheelchairs with no human contact.  Despite the volunteers and staff there are still many children left neglected.  I basically just held a child the whole time I was there.  Please pray that GOd would multiply the workers so these children will get the love they need.  Here are some pictures from my time there.
