So I know this is a needed update, so here it goes. We are in Thailand, month 5 of our race. We are actually really close to the half way point in our race. Uhmm, that’s weird.

So where are we and what are we up to this month?

We are about two hours Southeast of Bangkok. We are teaching English to Thai kids.

That’s cool, are you able to talk about Jesus?

Yeah! It’s super awesome because they just want to learn and hear stories and have us talk, so we can tell stories about anything including Jesus! Hip, hip, horay!!

So Thailand, what’s that like?

It’s hot, like just standing in the kitchen dripping sweat hot. I feel like those hot state fair horse shows may have been training for something, who knew.

What’s the food like?

Delicious!! Fresh fruits are everywhere such as guava, melons, watermelon, etc. Street pad thai is the BOMB!!!!! Markets are full of fascinating foods with soups and noodles of all types of color and texture.

What are you obsessed with this month?

Bubble tea, I especially like taro root. It’s purple 🙂

Anything different this month?

Well, I’m glad you asked. I have a brand new team of some extremely lovely ladies. While, I still get to grow with two of the girls from my last team, I also get 3 new team members. They’re pretty awesome, check out their blogs.

New teammates:

cadancerailsback.theworldrace.org

shannonmonaghan.theworldrace.org

katecampbell.theworldrace.org

The ones I get to hold onto a little longer:

janellychavez.theworldrace.org

mariatodd.theworldrace.org

What do you guys call yourself?

Arboretum. We love that we are all growing and that we are rooted in Christ. There are so many references of tress in the Bible, but also what we love about this name is that Arboretums are to be shared with the public. We want to be shinning lights of Christ’s love to be displayed and share with everyone. We may be coming up with some tree names for everyone. Yes, mother willow we will do ministry.

Do you have any prayer requests?

Yes please!!! Thailand is less than 1% Christian. They are mostly Buddhist. While they are a sweet and loving people they are missing true life in their life. Please pray for our ministry that our stories would speak more than just words and would show them God. Pray that the lights we carry would be seen by the students and the teachers. Also, the heat has been hard on as a team and has made it difficult to rest and recharge, so please pray for our energy. That we continue to grow and learn and seek after Christ everyday.

Also, my teammate Janelly is in need of financial support to continue her race. Please pray for her and if your heart is so lead, go to her page janellychavez.theworldrace.org and donate. Also, my squad mate Adam is in a similar boat. His page is adamwilliams.theworldrace.org. If you’re Facebook people, please share their blogs. Every little bit helps.

Okay, I think that’s the end of my updates. Thanks for following my journey. You’re helping teach Thai kids English and share Jesus’s love. Thank you!!

Much Love from Thailand,

Mary
