So we have been in Zambia just a little over a week. This is all squad month, so my whole squad is living and doing life together. Ah, yeah that’s about 37 people. It’s awesome and exciting and hard to live with that many people, but you know what? We are making it work and it has been a fantastic opportunity to worship together, learn together, and do this crazy thing called life together.
Our ministry this month is called J Zone. Yep, the J stands for Jesus. Our main mission this month is helping them with a play park where they can have day camps for kids. A place where kids can come and be loved. So there is about an acre of land that we have literally started to transform. We have cut down the tall grass, picking up garbage, and sticks. Soon we will be putting up a fence. We have also been blessed to have people on our squad that have been so heavily impacted by camp. They have taken the lead in building a day camp manual for J Zone. Hopefully the play park will have it’s first day of camp here in a couple days. It’s amazing to see so many gifts come together to impact a ministry.
We have been working so hard this month and it’s amazing to see the Lord challenge me to find the joy in the hard work. I would have never imagined that working at the barn the month before might have been better preparation for the WR. Ha!
It has been hot days with a lots of work, but you know what? Visions take work. I admire J Zone for following the Lord’s vision and their dedication and hard work to their vision. I continue to challenge myself to find the joy. Remembering that one day it will be a wonderful play park and my hands got to be a part of it!
Much Love,
