So I’m sad that there have been so few blogs this month. The internet was extremely spotty and unfortunately my computer has decided to give me the black screen of death. Month one was hard, but good. We worked alongside Jesus for Africa and had the most amazing ministry host. We basically have Mozambique parents.
The month was hard and had many obstacles. There were long travel days, learning how to cook outside, camping, and how to do this whole World Race thing. Our ministry was amazing as we were learning from Maria and Jaco (our hosts) how they have been supporting their congregations in the African bush. They invited us to dive right into their ministry. We prayed over members of the congregation and community, we gave messages, and spent time teaching the children Bible story. It was amazing to have our words translated into theirs. Unfortunately, due to our team being sick we were only had one week of ministry, but I feel like God blessed us with an amazing one.
What God taught me this month:
Ministry is hard and there will be days were there are trees in the road, sickness, and things outside our control. You must push through those days, you must keep your focus on God and trust that He is in control and there is always a purpose.
Our team is a baby. We are growing, we are still learning how to do this whole community thing and there is grace in that.
I have a message. We each gave the message while we were in Mozambique and there was such an overwhelming feeling that I was given this gift. That God had given me words to share. It was a good reminder that God has given me those words and they are a precious gift.
I feel like God has big things in store this year and excited to share them along the way. Please keep in your prayers:
– Our health
– Team unity as we start our second month of ministry in Malawi!
– That God would continue to show up in big ways
As a fun side note: three of our squad mates are getting baptized at Lake Malawi today!
Much Love,
-MZ
