The World Race is a mission trip with the organization Adventures In Missions for people 21 to 35 years old. Your group travels around the world and serves in 11 countires in 11 months! Each route, or squad, will be divided in to smaller groups of 6 to 8 people, something like a core group within the larger one. You do everything with them – travel, minister, learn, grow, pray, worship, eat, sleep (as in the same rooms, tents, churches, houses, or plots of land), and breathe. Basically, you live in close community the entire trip. You work with local churches and communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, help orphanages, and minister to women and children who are trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking (to name a few).
There are four routes leaving in January 2013 and I am on Route 3. The countries to which we will be ministering are (in order): China, Philippines, Honduras, El Salvador,* Guatemala, Albania, Romaina, India, Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. Later on I will be giving further insight into each country with information I have researched and compiled. Here are some FAQ that will be helpful and can probably explain things better than me.
*I went on a short-term mission trip to El Salvador in the summer of 2006. I also studied abroad in Ghana the spring semester of 2010.
