It’s not really a question anymore! I am going! God has been blessing my socks off with all my fundraisers!
I have the amount I need to launch in July and am only $5,000 away from the total of $15,500! Praise God for his faithfulness! I know it is all from God and his work, because I am soooo not good at making things happen.
I’ve held a variety of fundraisers, a ladies night, an auction, a spaghetti dinner, and selling homemade oreo truffles at my home towns 2nd Friday event.
All of these fundraisers have been fun mixed with hardwork and lots of amazing people!
I think my favorite has been the 2nd Friday nights. I have met and talked with so many cool people and been blessed so much by my home town. The first time in April a man came up to me and grilled me about my upcoming trip. “You aren’t going into those countries to convert them are you?” he asked. “No sir! I’m going to share the love of Christ and serve them!” He replied with “I can get behind that.” and he hands me a $50. I love how my Abba moves! I thought I was going to have to defend my faith and here this man just wanted to help and bless me!
Then for the May one I wasn’t able to get in like I thought and assumed that I would. So I called the shop owner who had allowed me to set up in April to let her know I wouldn’t be there. Well, she wasn’t having that! She called the person in charge of non-profit street sellers and got me in, and I was able to be in front of a different shop and connect with another shop owner. It was a great night connecting with so many people and just sharing a tidbit about what God is doing in my life. I met a lovely woman who works as an editor for a magazine. I asked for tips on how to make this blog better and not quite so mundane or boring. (If you are reading this now, thank you! I am so glad I had a chance to meet you! And the dress you wore to 2nd Friday was super pretty)
I am overwhelmed by how much my Abba loves me and how he is moving in my life right now.
He has put wonderful people together in my squad and given us an awesome family, and I get to meet and hug them all on Saturday!
I am so grateful for my friends, family, church, and supporters! Without your encouragement I’d be a straight up mess!
I did have a moment in the grocery store yesterday with my mama. I turned to her and said I don’t want to leave! I want to Stay! Her reply, Mary is that about God or you? It was me. I know I’m going to miss my loved ones, i knew that when I signed up. It becomes real this Saturday when I go to training camp for a week. And then becomes even more real in July when I say goodbye for a year. Am i ready? Who knows… But I am willing to go and do whatever is asked of me…
