A Project of Adventures in Missions

Last year I was a missionary with the organization Adventures in Missions. I travelled to 11 different countries over 11 months on the World Race. In each country my team was paired with a local church or non-for-profit organization. I had the opportunity to serve alongside the local church, all over the world. I could go into detail about all the things we did and all the amazing things we saw, but I’d like to focus on how God transformed my world. If you want to hear the stories, you can read my blogs or invite me over for coffee and I can share those things.

Aside from an amazing opportunity to come alongside the church in so many different places, the World Race was a safe place to be vulnerable. As a team we challenged one another and called one another to be more like Christ. I was intimidated by this and honestly, was scared my teammates would tell me I was worthless. But instead I was loved deeply. I was told I was beautiful, precious, wise, encouraging, and so much more. Then I was encouraged to believe those things about myself. This was hard! My entire life I listened to lies about myself…lies that made be believe I was worthless. But God continually reminded me, through my teammates, scripture, worship, and the world around me, that I am precious to Him. Do you know how many ways the Bible describes who we are in Christ? I don’t actually know, but it is a lot. Trust me! Over time I learned to walk in those truths. I know that I am loved beyond measure, that I am a daughter of the King, and that God delights in me!

I am so thankful for this journey. I have seen God move and transform lives, and thankfully my life was one of them. It would not be possible for me to go where God calls me without financial and prayer support! I am constantly in awe how God provides through loved ones and strangers. It has been such a stretching journey to trust for provision. Thank you for all your support!

My experience on the World Race allowed my passion of calling women into their freedom in Christ to grow. As I sought out God’s plan for this next season, it became clear He isn’t finished with this passion. I heard about an opportunity to work with women and my heart hasn’t looked back since. My rational brain has tried to talk my heart out of it a few times, thankfully with no success.

This January I will be travelling with a small all-women team to South America, including; Peru, Columbia and Dominican Republic. I am passionate about seeing women turn away from the lies they believe about themselves, and step into their Identity in Christ. You can see how my own story has lead me to this amazing ministry. In each community we visit we will build relationships with women, encourage them, and invite them to a women’s retreat. The women’s retreat, Beauty to Ashes, will provide a safe place for the women to share their story and begin to deal with the hurts and bruises from life they have been carrying. It will give them an opportunity to see themselves as Christ sees them; to stand with other women and begin to see above their circumstances and their past. Many of the women we will be targeting are considered at-risk, many have been victims of human trafficking, many have been abused, many are single mothers, and many are struggling to function in a healthy way without support. One of the goals of the program is to help the women create a support network, a safe place for women to grow emotionally and spiritually, a community that gives them the strength to stand taller.  Finally, throughout our 2-month stay in each location we will find women who rise up as leaders, we will disciple these women, and give them the skills they need or want to lead this supportive community.

In this next season, I believe the Lord wants to transform lives! We will empower women to other empower women. We will be supporting women to create a sustainable support network. Furthermore, I believe women who learn to walk in their Identity in Christ can change, not only the climate of their family, but of their community. And I believe I will see this as I launch into this next season.
