This month we are in Jefferysbaai (Jeffery’s Bay), South Africa. We are staying in one of the most beautiful places. We have had the opportunity to meet the most amazing people. We have been blessed with some really cool new experiences (i.e.: sandboarding & surfing!) I love South Africa! But my heart is also breaking for this community, this country, and people that need to know the love of Christ more than anything. As I was praying God reminded me of where I see Him every day and how He is moving in this place, I hope the following articulates that. Thanks for following along my journey and being part of what God is doing globally.
I hear the leaves rustle in the wind
I hear the sea crashing on the shore
I hear the birds singing in the trees
And I know you are there
I see the clear blue sky stretching endlessly
I see the little lizard scurry up the tree
I see the ants marching one by one
And I know you are there
I smell the newness of morning each day
I smell the fresh salty ocean air
I smell vibrant flowers that explode with aroma
And I know you are there
I feel hot sand between my toes
I feel the sun warming my face
I feel the cool ocean breeze all around me
And I know you are there
I hear you all around I see you in everything
I see you in everything
I smell things that reveal the truth
I feel you in your creation
And I know you are there
And then I hear of the fatherless hurting
And then I see the racial divisions
And then I smell the garbage in the middle of the town
And then I feel the weight of poverty & despair
And I know you are still there
Because I hear the joy in the giggles
Because I see the smiles and the dancing
Because I smell a fresh coat of paint
Because I feel the little arms wrapped tightly around my neck
I know you are here, moving in this place
