I believe with all my heart God wanted Peter, my childhood brother form Northern Ireland, and I to meet again on this trip.
Peter was a foreign exchange student who stayed with my family for 3 summers, when I was 7, 8, and 9. We grew so close to Peter, he really was a part of our family, a true brother, and he never stopped being a part of our family. When I was in 8th grade my family came to visit him here. It was a true blessing to see him, and we picked up right where we left off. Now, ten years later, Peter and I were able to see each other again.
It had to God who brought us together. Let me count the reasons…
First of all, my world race route took us to Ireland. Secondly, out of 83 world racers, I was on in 28 who was coming to Northern Ireland. Thirdly, Peter lives about 2 hours from Coleraine where I am staying, but although he never ever works up in this area, this week he was staying only 15 minutes away from where I am living! Was that God or what? It was a true blessing to hang out with him. I got to see him twice so far. He came and picked Danielle and I up and drove us all around the country, taking us to beautiful attractions, and also places where tourists don’t often go.
We were talking and laughing like we were 8 again. Ten years had passed, but we were eating each other’s food, laughing, joking, and there was brotherly love flowing.
