If you don’t know yet, I am going on WORLD RACE!!
I know what you’re thinking. Marsh, what in the world is World Race!?
World Race is an 11 month backpacking mission trip where I will get to get to serve in 11 different countries partnering in poverty relief and social justice issues. My heart has always been pulled towards these problems, but I have never known how to fully go about pouring in to this passion. World Race provides an amazing opportunity for me to partner alongside organizations that are deeply rooted in these fields and in the local communities of each country we are visiting. I will be working with human trafficking victims, human trafficking prevention care, teaching in schools, serving in churches, and working in hospitals. I have been put on a squad of 35-40 amazing people to travel this journey with. They are connected to my blog, and yes, I give you full permission to stalk at any time. I am blessed; they are LEGIT.
The countries that will be changing my life along the way are Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Philippines, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand
My launch date is SEPTEMBER 4TH, 2015. In other words, I am leaving in T-6 months!! (Enter mini Marsh panic attack here). I am stoked, scared, excited, worried, ecstatic, and totally blown by this amazing opportunity.
I will be blogging throughout the whole race to tell you about my experiences, asking for specific prayers, and keeping you updated on everything I can. As of now, if you could pray for my team dynamics, safety, health, and my fundraising, it would mean the world to me!
So here’s to my first blog post! Don’t judge it too harshly. I’m still getting the hang of this public-journaling- need- to- always- be- grammatically- correct- and- pretend-like- I- have- wisdom- to- share. Which I don’t. What I do know is that that I have an amazing story of how God brought me to this place (information coming in blog 2) and the way He is currently molding me, teaching me, and shaping me for this trip. I also know that He is going to do AUH-MAZING things on this trip, and I want YOU to be a part of this!! Because, you are my people, and I would not be here without you.
