There, I have more time now…I thought I’d send you an update on where I am and what I’ve been up to. Internet isn’t simple here, but it’s not non-existent either! I’ve posted pictures of Koh Samet (the island we were on for our debrief) as well as a Buddhist Temple tour we went on in Bangkok at www.markstratmann.com
I’m in Northern Thailand, about 220 Kilometers from Cheng Mai. We will be here until Wednesday speaking at Buddhist schools and helping out where ever we can. We leave from here to go into a mountain village on Wednesday and work on a church…possibly doing tile work or something, then we go to Myanmar (Burma) for a few days…who knows what we’ll get into there…kinda a rough country. We are working with a 35 year old American and his wife here, they are great people and it’s been fun getting to know them a bit.
Thailand continues to be a beautiful country, and I am absolutely amazed by the kindness of the people here. I’m not sure what it is about the demeanor of the people here that just captures your emotions. It may be the way they “Y” you (bow with their hands held together at their head) or maybe the way we are greeted at the schools with water, coffee, and snacks. Maybe it’s the passive way of life that I love. I’ll write more about that later.
From here, we hope to go to Vietnam for about 3 weeks, and finish our time on The World Race in Cambodia. I’m around $500 from being fully supported financially with 2 months to go. Please pray about helping finish off my support efforts in any way you can!
Sorry my updates have been few and far between lately, I promise that I’ll write some better updates soon!
