Hello everybody! My name is Mark and I am so excited about the upcoming year. I currently reside in the beautiful state of Colorado but have lived in Kansas and Oklahoma and was born and raised in Nebraska, the best state to be from (Go Huskers). I grew up in a very cool family. I have an older brother who lives in Oklahoma with his family and a younger sister who lives in Texas with her family. My mom still lives in Nebraska and my father beat us all to the finish line. He went home to be with Jesus when I was in high school.
I’m 31 which I guess makes me old by World Race standards but please don’t hold that against me. I have no intentions of ever growing up, too much. I graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, OK in 1997 with a degree in youth ministry and have worked in churches in various capacities ever sense, mostly volunteer.
I came across the WR website back in August and have been following the race ever sense. In December I had a discussion (you can read that argument) with God about all the reasons why I couldn’t go on the Race. Anybody ever win one of these discussions with God? Ya, me neither. So here I am. Ready to take on the world.
