I appreciate those of you who answered my plea for a last minute donation to make this departure possible. I was lacking several hundred dollars from 5,000 and it was absolutely imperative that I had this money in my account and you helped make that possible. Please continue to pray (and donate when possible) that the remainder of the $13,800 needed to complete this trip is donated. Currently there is about $5,500 in my account. I’ll keep you posted…My bags are all packed an I’m ready to go. It’s definitely a bittersweet moment writing a blog in the comfort of my own home at the kitchen table where I have eaten so many great meals and enjoyed great conversation. I know it will be 11 months before I return here and everything around me will be 11 months different. I know I will change and with the Lord’s help it will be for the better. Tomorrow morning there will be just a couple short hours before I set out for the Philippines and the great unknown and in many ways this is disconcerting. Despite this, I can step out in confidence and with courage knowing at least one thing for sure – The Lord is going with me. To put it more accurately, I am going with the Lord. This is His will and His plan and I’m blessed greatly to be part of it!
So goodbye, but not a somber one. I say goodbye with a hello on the 11 month horizon, when I return to share more of how great the God is we serve and how great are the things He has done on this earth.
