From the Whirlwind

Did your voice pierce the silence,
That thrust the world in motion?
Answer me this question,
Was your Spirit over the ocean?

Did you arrange the clay,
That gave man his form?
Is your breath his ignition,
Did you tell him why he’s born?

No, you are man
I Am, that I Am
In you I delight,
You’re pleasant in my sight

Can you arouse the thunder,
And make your presence known?
Can you light up the heavens,
Where you sit upon your throne?

Can you open up the skies,
To call down the rain?
All the angels in your presence,
Will they declare your fame?

No, you are man
I Am, that I Am
In you I delight,
You’re pleasant in my sight

Lord I struggle to believe,
Why you consider me.
What you took upon your shoulders,
That I could be made free.

I was clothed in shame,
So I ran to hide from You.
But Jesus took that pain,
Now I’ve been made a new.

Yes, I am man and You are the I Am
By Your blood I’ve been redeemed
Now You reside in me

This is actually a song that I started writing in Penang, Malaysia based from the book of Job and Christ’s work on our behalf.  The bolded part is the chorus and is meant to be sang twice.  I sang it for the first time yesterday and the chorus spoke to me so much because this is something I have been struggling with; that the Lord is actually pleased and delights in me.   It was crazy powerful for me to be singing from the place of God about how much He delights in me.  Among all he created He delights in you most.

I love you, Mark
