Ministry in Malaysia: Awesome and Life Changing! Malaysia was not part of our original route, however, I know now that God placed us here for a reason. I experienced a deeper level of God’s love, power, and majesty this month. This experience occurred through our powerful prayer ministry this month which drew our hearts deeper and deeper into the spirit with a burning passion for Him.
Major breakthroughs occurred during a 30 hour prayer event we attended on Easter weekend. This event was put on by Penang House of Prayer. I cannot put into words all that took place as I prayed and drew into the spirit for 30 hours. I know one thing for sure, my heart is changed and I am hungry for more. Through hours of intercessory prayer, I was set free and saw many others set free from fear, insecurities, doubt, worry, and focus one’s self. Now I have boldness and confidence as I pray, minister, and share the gospel with others. During the prayer event, I kept getting the message to press in-press in deeper, focus on God, spend time with Him, enjoy Him, want nothing else other than to be in His presence. The things of this world lost all of their importance and meaning as I drew in to the heart of God. God is a God of love, compassion, joy, and has a desire to be my friend. I am a son of God. I am no longer a slave but a saint. I have authority and boldness as Jesus lives inside of me. My body is a temple and I am filled with His presence.
The 30 hour prayer event started off with a dynamite 2 hour Good Friday worship/communion service with a local church. The place was filled with people burning with passion for God. God was orchestrating the service as He brought people together to pray for one another-often a stranger would be praying for someone with an issue that the stranger had been set free from. Comparing stories with other team members, God paired many up that night to pray for one another and many were set free!
We ended the 30 hour prayer event with a intense, spirit filled worship that took us into Easter. How awesome it was to start Easter filled with the Holy Spirit and in God’s Presence. During the last 45 minutes, we were filled with so much joy and laughter, we had a hard time bringing the night to a close. I will remember this Easter forever.
Every ministry we encountered in Malaysia had a foundation of prayer.
Each Monday Evening we spent 2 hours praying for justice in Malaysia and other countries. Prayers were very powerful, spirit-led, and effective!
On Wednesday evenings, we went out on the streets of Malaysia ministering to the homeless, prostitutes, transsexuals, and others in need of Jesus. As teams went out on the streets, a team would stay back and have a session of intercessory prayer, lifting up the ministry team, for those on the streets, and the hearts of those who are soliciting prostitutes. Major breakthroughs happened on the streets-people accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, people were healed from physical ailments, homeless were offered shelter with meals, and much more. Many were so grateful to have someone to talk and/or pray with. I know the people we visited with saw the love of God.
On the Wednesday evening before Easter, we had an Easter Service with communion in which most of the people we saw on the streets attended. The Saturday before the service, an hour before the service, and throughout the service, an intercessory prayer team was praying throughout the service focusing on lives coming to Christ and people healed and set free from afflictions. Again, people came to Christ and were set free from bandages and afflictions. The power of prayer and moving of the Holy Spirit was very evident in the service and out on the streets.
Each Friday evening, Penang House of Prayer holds a Friday Night Burn 10pm-1am. This is a very intense, spirit-filled, transforming 3 hours of prayer and worship. My heart burned for God and was wanting more and more of Him during these events. I can think of no better way to spend a Friday night than in the presence of God!
I am so grateful to experience this dynamite prayer ministry this month. My life was definitely been changed his month, I am eager and have a burning desire pursue God and stay in His presence.
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. James 5:16
