Hello, My name is Mark Mathis. I am from Tupelo Mississippi, and have lived within an hour of Tupelo for most of my life. I am 20 years old and am a Automotive technology major(fancy word for mechanic) at Itawamba community college. I enjoy hiking, camping, fishing. I work at a pizza place(lost Pizza Co.).

I was just like every other student in high school. I could not wait to Graduate, get a great job, and have all of the nice things that I’ve always wanted, mostly antique cars. then the summer after I graduated I got a chance to go to Nicaragua for a week. It was then that I realized just how many people, even just a 4 hour plane ride from home had never heard of Jesus. I saw the conditions that people were living in and it was then when I felt that God put me on this earth for more than just to go to church on Sundays. There was more to being a follower of Christ then just church and pot luck lunches on Sundays. I knew I needed to be out telling people about what Christ has done for them.

a few years later my whole outlook on life has changed. I am no longer working towards my goal of having all of the nice cars to show off. I am going through life trying to take any opportunity that is presented to tell people about Jesus. I am going on about life listening and waiting for the calling that God has for me. I believe that the World Race is what God wants me to do right now. right before Jesus went up into heaven he said to his disciples, “Go, therefore making disciples of ALL nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.” I figure that the last thing that Jesus said before he left must be extra important.
