Hello readers,

My name is Mark Dewar. I’m 20 years old living in Lake Orion MI. I am excited to announce that I have been called to partake on an adventure in missions. For all of my life I have been an adventurous child. Climbing trees, making forts, or running around in the woods, I would always find myself exploring and never taking a break. Growing up with 3 older siblings and one younger mean a lot of fun childhood memories. It has been exciting to see how each of us kids has grown and are becoming the men and women God has for us. A very large part of that is from the support of my loving parents. They have always been there for me and have been prime examples of how Christ like christians should act.

Growing up I would have never thought that I would be going, yet alone want to go on a missions trip. I have always been an independent person and kind of shy when it comes to interacting with people. It wasn’t till about two years ago that I started to feel the Lord tugging on my heart for missions. While I was at the Passion 2015 conference, the Lord laid missions on my heart. Through the messages, worship, and testimonies of what the Lord is doing around the world, I began to a burden like never before for lost souls. There have been many other occasions where the Lord was making it very clear that He wanted me to do missions.

So as you can imagine. I am very excited that I have the amazing privilege to be going on the September 2016 gap year with The World Race! My adventures as a kid are now becoming more amazing and meaningful. I would appreciate all your prayers for me and my team as we embark on this journey. Pray that we would touch lives, love like Jesus loves, and that our lives would be changed all for the glory of God.
