We had a great Christmas with our new family this year – the F Squad. It was silly, entertaining, and full of memories I will never forget. The day began with a delicious breakfast hosted by team 5-Alive. Then we all gathered around the Christmas tree to open presents. Each person had at least one present to open because we did the Secret Santa deal. The usual lazy day Christmas afternoon entailed napping, good conversations and preparations for our squad dinner. We absolutely feasted that night with some of the best food I’ve ever tasted – Turkey, sweet potatoes, casseroles, blueberry pies, cookies we had decorated the night before and so much more. That night we had a talent show full of hilarious skits and World Race specific jokes.
One of the things I thought I’d miss the most this year was being at home with the family during the holidays. And don’t get me wrong, I missed them more than anything.
But, this was a Christmas I will never forget. And I even got to share it with my family, my new family.
Yes, Dan is blowing up an inflatable wife. Johnny’s gift to him to ease his sadness from Jade’s absence.
Josh Bruce wrapped himself, which held the present he got for Johnny – a new ipod.
Our good buddy Josh Markland, he’s a hoot.
I had the best Secret Santa – Jen Crane – fresh flowers, my favorite “innocent” juice, chocolate, an ipod case and a beautiful hat she knitted herself. I wore it for 5 days straight after Christmas, see below for picture.
Ashley Johnson, one of my fav’s, holding a gift the Barnes’ gave each girl on the squad. So thoughtful 🙂
Jen’s gift.
Doin’ what I do best…setting up for our dinner.
My Mom’s infamous blueberry pie recipe. I whipped up 5 that day and we ate all of them.
The Pratt’s lovin’ life. We love and miss you all.
