Hola from Trinidad, Mexico!
We have been here since Monday and it has felt like a long four days. The town is small with lots of children. They all speak Spanish in addition to Ch’ol, so we’ve been able to communicate quite a bit with the help of Johnny. He has been our lifeline here. His role as translator has been really overwhelming for him because he’s the only way to communicate to anyone in the town, even our hosts. We are all slowly learning more Spanish so the small conversations don’t have to go through him. Kids are amazing teachers. They have so much patience – if I say “Que?” (What?) over and over when they try to talk to me, they just keep talking or laugh at my lack of spanish. I feel like I’m in kindergarten all over again – learning how to say head, shoulders, knees and toes (knees and toes)… we play that game a lot.
  

Our host family has asked us to only do a couple things while we are here, so it has left a lot of down time for our team to study and pray together. In the morning, we meet for Bible study with our team. The afternoons are for hanging out in town, building relationships with the locals and praying over the village. In the evening, we walk over to the church of our host, Pastor Adilina. Atleast 30 kids will be there waiting for us to play games. Then we go into the church to share lessons, dramas, and pray over the sick.

Today, Adilina has asked the men from our team to go around the village and pray over the families and for the women to help clean the church. Afterwards, we will invite everyone to the church tonight, where we have planned to share a drama and for me to give my testimony (video coming soon).

This weekend, we will be going into Salto de Agua. We hope to have more opportunities for internet and have more time to share what we are learning here. If you have skype, log on Friday and Saturday. We hope to be logged in during those days.
