Below is a video by my teammate, Stephanie May (stephaniemay.theworldrace.org) that describes what I have been doing this month and sheds light on the reality that is Moldova.

Sweet, right? Assuming you watched the video… : ) There is so much “hopelessness” in this country, but the Spirit is moving still.

My passion is beyond ignited. My flame has been fanned.

Human Trafficking. If you know me at all, have followed me on twitter, or read my WordPress blog, you know that the Lord has instilled a passion within my heart to help in this fight against this modern day slavery.

The pastor here has asked a few of us to put on a trafficking awareness program for the town of Cornesti. We named it RELEASE! There will be skits, live music, video, and speakers. The event will take place this Sunday. I wish I could put into plain words my enthusiasm and anxiousness. It is difficult to say who will come or what exactly this will look like.

I would like to ask you to pray alongside my friends and myself! Here are some points:

-Pray for us this week as we hand out invitations and hang up posters. Pray for barriers to break down in individual hearts. Pray that people would be receptive.

-Pray for safety. Going against the grain of the ways here could stir unneeded turmoil amongst those involved in that which we are opposing.

-Pray for us as we continue to work on the program. Pray that the Holy Spirit would lead our every decision.

-Pray for us during the program! Sunday, November 6th from 5-6:30 pm. This is 11 am EST and 9 am MT. Pray again that people would be receptive and that they would come to know the Savior. This event is targeted at the general public, but we are holding fast to presenting Jesus as the only solution to trafficking…before fixing the economy, before a college education, before everything.

-Pray for one-on-one conversations we will have with folks. With this, pray for their hearts as many of them will have family members who have been sold.

-Pray for anything else that I might be forgetting!

I can’t wait to give you an update of what takes place…good or bad.

5 minutes later…

I wish I could depict what JUST occurred.

Rachel, Stephanie, and I are sitting in our bedroom. The pastor just came in to share some recent statistics of trafficking and emigration. His heart was heavy. Our hearts are now just as burdened. It’s funny. We know there is hope and we are aware of this, but at the same time the reality is still here. It’s all around us…Oh, Lord – heal this land!

Part of me can’t wait to get out of this country. Another part of me wants to stay and labor here for the rest of my life.

Here are some things the pastor spoke of:

From BBC: Every HOUR5 Moldovans are born, 6 die, and 4 emigrate. These stats emulate

1/10  people who live in Moscow are Moldovans.

By 2016, Russia is expected to take the country.

From the UN: A New Jersey man was recently convicted of selling organs of Moldovans for roundabout $120,000.

I don’t even know what else to say, except to pray…and to plead with you to pray for this nation as well. To Him be the glory.
