Hey everyone…sorry if there are typos..I´m using a Spanish keyboard and I´m confused =P
It was so great to meet up with the entire squad in the Boston airport…we took over an entire area with our sleeping bags and packs. We bonded again as if yesterday was training camp. Team NEON flew from Boston to Houston then here to Guatemala. We are staying by Lake Atitlan, about 3 hours by van from the airport. It was nice being able to understand most of the ads and such because they are in Spanish. Our squad will be spending the week here in a hotel to prepare ourselves spiritually and learn how to set the tone within our teams for the duration of our stay. Our squad mom and dad, our squad leaders and other AIM staff are here with us to teach us the ropes and stir us trust God to deal with our fears and anxieties in being a completely different culture.
Today our team got to take some time to explore the town and find the market. We are learning to use what Spanish we know and to engage with the people. I don´t have my camera hooked up to this comp at the moment but I will be posting pictures the next chance I get.
Thank you so much to everyone who has been praying for our travels and health. My feet hurt from walking but the pain is good for me. The squad will be here in Panjachel for the week at our hotel and then afterwards our teams will split up to begin our ministry.
