Hey everyone!  This first week back home has been so nice.  I LOVE the view from my mom’s house in Richardson.  I literally live across the street from a sweet (GREEN) park.  Next week I’ll have my pack ready and I can go for walks with it during the days to get in more practice.  My mom got a surprise when she saw me on Saturday instead of Sunday…aren’t I sneaky? 😉

I’m getting caught up on my missed episodes of LOST, whoo hoo!  I’m taking advantage of having cable and internet access 24/7, but I don’t think I’ll be missing it all that much when I leave and get started with travelling.  A few weeks ago I gave up checking out the latest celebrity gossip websites.  I’m a huge Twilight Saga fan and I used to be caught up on ALL the latest news about the New Moon movie coming out in November.  I realized quickly that it’s possible I won’t get to see the movie when it comes out in theaters in the States.  So I gave up those little hobbies of mine that were consuming 95% of my free time.  It’s quite liberating actually.  I have a different perspective on what I can live without.  Who really needs all that?

I’m going to limit all the sites I visit while I’m on the internet while I’m still at home and when I’m at the internet cafes.  But I want my family, friends and other supporters to know how communication will go. 🙂

PHONE CALLS:  I will most likely be using SKYPE to make phone calls through a computer to my family and friends.  I just now downloaded it so I’ve yet to figure out how to set up the caller ID.  So if you see a weird # calling you and you know you’re on that Do No Call list…it’s probably just me. =P  my username on SKYPE is “mavila01“.  I can make calls for free to Skype users, call any other # but for a price, and send IMs.  I won’t be taking my own computer so I’ll be using whoever has one that is available or whatever is available at the cafes.

EMAILS:   I can post my pictures, videos and updates all in one place.  Snazzy eh??  Go to the lab on the top left that says “Subscribe” to get an email sent to you with the link of my latest post.  it’s just put in your inbox for ya.  With that said, I will want to hear about what’s going on with you too!  I’ll send what e-mails I can on an individual basis, but think about how hard that can be (and time consuming) if I tried to e-mail EVERYONE I know.  Not much ministry would be gettin’ done huh?  So don’t take it personally if you don’t hear from me every month or week.

As far as REACHING ME goes…you remember that movie “You’ve Got Mail”?  Just like a few little words have the power to brighten our days, so do comments that you can leave on my blogs.  To know that people are reading this and just wanting to say hi can lift my spirits.  I’ll have my bad days this year just like anyone else.  And sometimes the little hello and “good job” keep me motivated.  Leave comments, leave me messages (yup, there’s a tab for that too!), and trust me…I’ll get back to ya somehow when I can!

NINE more days to go and then I’m off to Boston to meet up with the rest of the June Squad.  It’s SO close!!
