Team N.E.O.N.

As soon as the teams were announced, our first task was to go out and make a memory with our teams.  Our team made it out to a Salvation Army Thrift Store in “Little Mexico” of Gainesville.  We wanted to find dresses for a redneck wedding or prom theme.  We didn’t have so much luck, but eventually found lots of gooffy outfits.  I’m not sure who found them, but a few people found these neon hats that went perfectly with our outfits.  Our group is hiliariously funny and crazy.  The neon was just perfect for our personalities.

When it came time to pick a name NEON just stuck with us.  Let me explain the acronym.
Now
Everyone
Owns
Nothing

This next year is about sacrifice and giving up the comforts we’re used to, but it’s also about giving up our sense of entitlement for the sake of bringing light and truth to the people we will minister to.  This next year we are dedicted to serving the lost and oppressed, but also to serving each other as a family.  We’re in this together for the glory of Jesus Christ.  We are going to be opening our hearts to the voice of God and leading of His Holy Spirit within us.

Our team very much appreciates all of your support.  We will need continuous prayer from your prayer warriors.  We will be tested like never before, but I can’t thank God enough already for the ministry and ways He is going to use us to bring hope and light to the world. 🙂
