I feel horrible for not keeping people updated as often as I should be.  I’ve been WAY too distracted and I’m taking full advantage of some down time here at work.  So here I go…

Speaking of work.  I took at “part-time, part-time” job at Women’s Protective Services and it became more than I originally signed on for.  Short story is I recently finished doing two weeks of working back-to-back jobs.  I would work 8am-5pm and then also have to pull 11pm-7am shifts at WPS 7 days straight.  It was rough and I’m sure I looked it too.  But God was incredibly faithful in providing me with the energy to pull through it and for the first week’s worth I was able to contribute $600 towards my trip.  This second week was much easier because co-workers offered to take some shifts off my hands without me having to ask, though I probably should have to begin with.  Anywhos, I’ll have another $350 to put towards the WR funds.  I am praising the LORD for unexpected provision!!  Now that is behind me and I’m back to normal working (and sleeping) hours…for the time being no doubt.

Financial support.  As of today I have received $2,930 cash towards the race, whoo hoo!  And I have received $1,550 in pledges as well.  I have now passed the 20% mark of raising the total $13,800.  I can’t even begin to describe how excited I would get when I crossed the thousands marks.  With each contribution, the race becomes more real and tangible.  This is going to happen..and it is incredibly humbling that it’s happening because God’s generosity is pouring out of friends, family, and anonmyous donors.  I know people are feeling the pinch right now, but it is a testament of faith and trust in the LORD that we acknowledge who our Provider and Sustainer is.  THANK YOU to everyone who has given so far.

In the next week or so I hope to be sending out word about local fundraisers (garage sale, raffles, services, etc.). I tend to get the creative “mind blocks” when it comes to fundraising, but God answers prayers for that too.  My next goal is to have received 40% funds (in cash) by the end of training camp.  (Or approximately $5,520.)  I know this can happen.  I’m more excited about getting to bring more “senders” into this race, to give you and your families the chance to invest in change in at least 11 countries that our team will serve in.

If you or anyone you know would like to help me reach this 40% goal, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Or you can simply go to the “You can support me HERE” tab at the top left of the screen.  It’s as easy as a few clicks of the mouse. 😉

Training Camp.  The June team will be gathering together for the first time at the end of March to attend a training camp in Gainesville, GA.  I have no idea what to expect and it’s quite comforting to know I’m not the only one, haha.  I’m nervous, anxious, excited, worried, joyful, …that’s really just the start of it.  I’ve gotten to communicate with several team members through blogs like this one, conference calls, e-mails.  God has been working in and through each of us in this whole preparation process.  Meeting together will make His presence just that much clearer I think.  Get ready world…we’re coming for ya!

Race route.  The final update for this post is that our route has changed yet again.  You ready for this…
Guatemala->Nicaragua->Romania->Ukraine->Israel->Mozambique/Malawi->Swaziland->Malaysia/Indonesia->Philippines->Thailand.

So there we have it.  I apologize for not keeping you all in the loop, especially with such great news as all this!  I’m going to do my best and blog much more.  This trip has definitely been a priority and the preparations didn’t work out quite as easily as I planned.  I’m learning flexibilty with all of this.  Leave comments, email, call, text.  I’m sure you’ve got some questions and I hope I’ve got some answers.

Thank you again for your prayers and support (in all forms and fashions).  God is good, amen!
