Are you excited?
Are you nervous?
These are the two most frequently asked questions when I share about the Race. The answer? Yes!
There is, however, an emotion that comes to the surface more often than any excitement or nervousness. It is amazement.
Whenever I take a moment to stop and look at my life I think, how did I end up here? I can't believe I'm living this way or that I'm about to do this thing! When did this happen? How did this come about??
I asked those very questions of God in a moment of pure amazement and he told me:
This is what "yes" looks like.
There have been times when I have acted out of fear rather than trust. There have been times that I have sought out my own glory instead of the Lord's. There have been times where I chose my own way over his.
Though I tend to think on those times quite often, God reminded me in that moment of the many times I had prayed, "Have your way." And of the times that I have stopped my plans as he led me to pray for someone. And the times where I have chosen humility over pride. There are those times too. Even if I don't see it in the moment, each one of those yeses is powerful.
God is longing to amaze us by what he can do with a "yes".
