…are who I have trusted to get me around Honduras for the past month. Yesterday we had to take 2 bus rides and hop in a truck with an unknown driver and trust that they knew who she was and that we were going to the right spot. There were five young men who I trusted with my life. If they got off the bus, I ran after them. If they stayed, I made sure I was in eye contact with them at all times. Yes, we "gringos" screamed like little kids and got on the wrong bus and waved our hands around, but they were watching out for us. Our car even broke down, again, and it all got worked out in the end. They told us to put our belongings away for our safety. They told me not to worry about a million times. I trusted they knew what they were doing and how we were going to get through all of the chaos of Honduras. On our three hour travel time back home, God gave me a revelation. He said, "Marianne, this is how you need to be with me. In the chaos, listen to me. In the unknown, follow me. In the midst of it all, trust me." It's one of those Proverbs 3:5 moments and it actually hits your soul.
So, that is what I've learned this week, well, one of the many lessons.
We've done more manual labor. We went to a school thinking we were going to play with children. Nope. We had to dig up a hill to build a new play area. Once again, we looked behind the physical and I had a blast. Also, some more sun on my pale skin and more laughs. It's been an extremely long week, but I'd say I'm in a great place. 🙂
Proverbs 16:9 The heart of man plans his way, but The Lord establishes his steps.
once again, just look at my facebook for pictures 🙂 the internet isn't good enough yet to load things!
