Since the Philippines, there has been five team leaders announced: Hannah, Walker, Emily (my team lead), Ethan, and Michaela. These wonderful people are individuals who help the team stick together like glue! 🙂
These awesome people contact our hosts (the people that we do ministry with each month). They have become life coaches, “doctors”, encouragers, mentors, and life friends. 🙂
Each team leader brings a certain dynamic and perspective to the team. For instance, Emily brings peace, purity, and playfulness. I’ll only speak about Emily as I’ve had her as a team leader now for five months, and on a team for ten months now. 🙂
Team leaders are also, in my experience, the connection point between us and our host. They speak one on one with hen to figure out ministry, how to handle situations, and to ask specific questions about what we need.
Team leads have a lot of responsibility, but it’s awesome when they delegate and we all get to pitch in on their “load” that they have so that we can become more unified through it and one person isn’t doing it all. I definitely have lots of respect for these people! 🙂
