Everyone, meet my team “Diamonds”, and our Shepard who worked as a mentor for the carepoint with the kids that we spent time with. His name was Mswandihle aka “Joseph” which was the nickname that we gave him. He was so completely dedicated to the kids and to us. It absolutely was a pleasure getting to know him and to walk alongside him during our time with the kids.

Okay, so this is one of the first days at our carepoint and the result of what happens when it downpour rains on you and you get to walk home in your sandals and trek through lots of mud! It literally felt like goo in between the toes. Haha I just kept telling myself it was exfoliating for the skin. This is Africa..

This is that same day as the above picture, and all of us all bundled up soaking wet from our walk back home in the rain. It was so much fun just being out on the Swaziland road and trekking home in the downpour. Literally had a blast walking back that day.

Lastly but not least, this was the day that my team and I were coming home from Nisela, which is basically a lodge where we slept in these typical Swazi houses called “beehives”. We ended up staying the night and had to come back to our compound with the rest of our team for church. But, since it was a Sunday, the public transport didn’t run.. (didn’t plan that out very well lol). Soooooo, the obvious solution?? Hitchhiking! This is us in the back of a pickup truck that we hopped on after one of the locals stopped to pick us up. It wasn’t until this day that I realized this was on my bucket list. It literally was one of the best things I’ve ever done. The wind was ridiculous!!
