I made it to month 10! I can’t believe I’m already here in Honduras. This month is unique because I am here with my entire squad. We are working with an organization called Puerta de Sion. We live in an old dance club where all 39 of my squadmates have set up tent. It’s nice to finally use my tent after carrying it around the world for 9 months. In another building on the compound, seven street boys live with the staff here. The boys have had a very rough life, with unstable families and drug addictions. Even at the young age of 12, these boys have been using paint thinner and digging food out of the dump. Here at Puerta de Sion they are given refuge to just be kids and be cared for.

We are doing several different ministries this month including teaching English to grade school, teaching self-esteem and values to middle school, working with street children, visiting different colonies to perform skits and sing songs and more. This first week we’ve been here has been filled with meetings and adjusting to the Honduran life. I’m excited to begin this packed month.
