There is a desire placed deep in the hearts of all men to know their purpose, to find true love and a final resting place called home.  For the past 3 years I have braved the working world as an event planner, volunteer coordinator, public relations and marketing director and anything else needed to keep the office running smoothly.  All the while, my heart was feeling a tug for another adventure beyond my control and comfort zone.  This thirst was partially quenched with mission trips to Cuba and Ecuador, where I served as a Spanish translator to share the Gospel cross-culturally.  Connecting with other cultures, especially through their language, makes me come alive on a whole other level.  This God-given desire that I have been saved to serve the nations has been whispering to me over the years and propelling me forward.

“Do the best with what you have, where you are, while you have it.”

This phrase encouraged me to invest locally into the creative community of Birmingham through a downtown church plant called Christ Fellowship in 2012, Local Ministry Team: Restoration Academy, Mtn. Brook High School Bible Study, Homewood Elementary Bible Teacher and loving my neighbors and community.  There is no doubt that God is at work in this city, calling out believers for His purposes, through his love to point us heavenward.

I am 24, single, no children, debt-free and passionate about spreading the good news of God’s kingdom to come.  In 1 Corinthians 7, Paul encourages us to remain as we are called if it is most beneficial in sharing the Gospel.  During this season in my life, I want to pursue a dream that was planted in my heart many years ago; one that would take me across the globe as an ambassador for Christ.  It was for such a time as this that an opportunity with the World Race came into view.

Adventures in Missions designed an 11-month Christian mission trip for ages 22-35 to serve 11 countries around the world.  This is a year filled with discipleship, teamwork, simplicity and service as we work alongside local ministry partners to preach the Gospel, plant churches, love orphans and bring the Father’s hope and restoration to many tribes and nations.  The countries on my route include:  Swaziland, Botswana, South Africa, Romania, Moldova, Thailand, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Guatemala and Nicaragua.

I would love to share more with you and answer any questions you may have at (205) 447-3037 or [email protected].  You can keep up with the worldwide adventure through my blog at margaretkloess.theworldrace.org.   I give thanks to God when I think of you and the encouragement you have had on my walk with the Lord.

Grace + Peace Abounding,

Marge Kloess
