than to tell you that I can’t believe we’re already in the second
month. After spending a day in Malaysia’s capital, Kuala Lumpur, Deep
Roots jumped on a train for the three-hour trip to the city of Ipoh
(ee-poh). As soon as I stepped off the train, a smile planted itself
on my face and in my heart, and has basically remained since then. At
debrief last night, we were asked to explain our initial feelings
about this month using one or two words. The only thing I could come
up with was “peaceful obedience” because my heart is completely
at peace and excited about our upcoming experience, and for the first
time since leaving home, I feel as though I am truly living in God’s
will. Last month was extremely challenging for me, both spiritually
and emotionally, so I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about
Malaysia. But I can honestly tell you that I can’t wait for our time to begin!
and we’ll be involved with immigrants.
Directly next door to us is a Hindu temple (photo). We’re staying with friends and are
following the schedule they set for us. It’s funny how we don’t appreciate our freedoms until we don’t have them. I’ll be able to tell you more about this month once we get to Thailand. I do know that we’ll be going to an orphanage for a week, but
I’m not sure what that will entail.
we’ll be living on our own this month. Our desire is to learn to
love, both one another and the people around us.
of them are still fund-raising, and everyone needs to have $11,000 in
their account by the end of this month.

In addition… I love hearing from
people! Trust me when I tell you that no note is too long. My desire
is to be fully here, while still being informed of what’s going on at
home. So please, email me or something!
