I got home from work last night, tired, sore, and a bit irritable. It had been a long day. Regardless, I decided to sit down at the computer and have a quick look to see where I was at financially. The last time I looked was a couple weeks ago. My support account read:
Gifts: $13,533.67
At this point, my jaw hit the floor. If you couldn’t remember, I need $14,300 total, which meant that only $766.33 remains. I called Mom over to see, and it popped into my head that someone had given me $500 the other day. She mentioned that someone else made a $200 donation this past Sunday. Add that to the wonderful people who are supporting me monthly and the little bit from the fundraiser that I still need to send in, and it equals ONE AWESOME GOD!!
I’m leaving for training camp on Friday morning, and it’s an incredible blessing to know that everything is paid for! Anything I raise from here on out, AIM will reimburse me for the cost of my flight to the departure city in September.
So thank you, thank you, thank you to all who have helped get me to this point! Whether you’ve given finances, prayers, time, hugs, listening ears, caring words… it means a lot to me. Thank you.
Like I said, I’m heading down to Georgia for training camp and will be gone for about 10 days. This will be the first time that I’ll meet anyone on my team, and I’m really looking forward to it! I would appreciate your prayers for all of us (last count: approx. 90 people!) as we travel there and as we get to know one another and find out what God has in store for us.
To steal Aunt Kathy’s words… please consider yourselves hugged!
