“If your dreams don’t scare you, they’re not big enough.”

I was fortunate enough to grow up in an extremely loving Christian home. My parents have always been my biggest fans and continue to be my role models and source of inspiration. From an early age they instilled in me the importance of obtaining a college education, establishing a successful career, and finding “the one” to start a family and spend my life with, all while mimicking a love like Christ’s. Despite this upbringing, however, I admittedly strayed from this path in pursuit of things of this world and my own selfish impulses. I was focused on chasing after the American dream and doing things my way. I fell into a monotonous routine that I believed would bring me happiness and get me to where I wanted to be.

Then one day, I woke up and realized how empty my life was. As I looked around at the life I had built I saw things that I thought I wanted but felt a yearning for something more. I realized that I was scared of my dreams not because they were too big but because I felt there had to be more to life than this. After completely surrendering myself to Christ I was led months later to the World Race. When I was reading about it I never imagined that I would take part in such an intense mission- backpacking 11 countries in 11 months sounded a little crazy and was definitely only for those who were way more qualified than I am. I tried to forget about the trip but kept getting a nagging feeling to just apply and pray about it.

With all of that being said, I’m excited to share that I will be embarking on the World Race from July 7, 2015-May 27, 2016. The 11 countries that I will be going to are India, Nepal, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Botswana, Swaziland, South Africa, Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Jamaica.

My biggest hope while on this journey is to be able to share with others the love and fullness of life that I have found in Jesus while advancing the Kingdom on earth. While I still feel far from qualified, I know that God qualifies the called. I don’t expect to change the whole world but I truly believe that I can change the world for one person simply by loving them.

There is no doubt that I am going to be in need of a HUGE support system. Please consider supporting me financially or praying for me on this journey! If you want more information on how to make a donation, please let me know (:
