downtown Bucharest, Romania                                           our hostel for 5 days– no a/c, but beds & a shower!

It was a sad day of goodbyes yesterday, but I had a lovely send-off from some very special people. I flew from Destin, FL to NYC where I met up with my squad at the airport. We arrived this morning around 5:30am in Dublin, Ireland & then flew on to Bucharest, Romania where we arrived around 11:00am (3:00am CST). So, it was just shy of 24 hours of travel for me, but I slept on each plane ride & felt pretty well rested when we landed in Romania. It was a good thing I was somewhat energized, because the 45 min bus ride & 20 min walk to the hostel was pretty brutal with about 80lbs of gear in 95 degree weather. I am very thankful that our squad of 45 or so people will be staying for a few days in a cute little hostel in downtown Bucharest, complete with a shower & beds, before we disperse for our first month of ministry (Hallelujah!) We have lost a few members for various reasons, so much to our surprise some changes were made to the teams that had been arranged at training camp. I was moved from Team Rise Up (and will miss these guys who I had begun bonding with), but I am extremely excited about my new team placement! We will be doing our first month of ministry at Mission Possible outside of Sofia, Bulgaria, a ministry that trains Sunday school teachers and offers outreach for gypsies and underpriviledged youth. Check them out: http://www.mpusa.org/bulgaria.html
We will be without internet for the next 48 hours to spend time with our team, so look for an update once we make it to Bulgaria (if not before.) Love you all & thank you for your prayers for traveling mercies– made it safely to country #1!
