10. You have learned that it really is more about the Journey than the destination.

9. Taking the leap of faith is more exhilirating than you had ever imagined. “I have come that you may have life and have it to the full.” -Jesus (John 10:10)

8. You know there is no display of God’s Glory like the African sunset.

7.On travel days, shifting becomes a community effort. (Ex: After three hours in the back of a flatbed, you can’t feel your right arm or either of your legs and you have to announce to the truck that you need to shift weight because it directly affects the fifteen people seated around you).

6. Scripture comes alive in your daily life.

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness if over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light…” Isaiah 60:1-3

“If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.” (Isaiah 58:10)

“The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.” (Acts 11:21).

“By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that come through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.” (Acts 3:16).

“Religion that God our Father acepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…” (James 1:27)

“And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.” (13:52).

5. On free days, you hang out with elephants, rhinos, lions, and other fun animals that would likely eat or trample you if you actually got out of the land rover.

4. You, with the apostle Paul, are “learning the secret of being content whatever the circumstances…” (Philippians 4:12)

3. You are learning the value of having faith like a child.

2. The strangers you met a few months earlier have become family, and you can’t imagine your life without them.

1. You have hopelessly, completely, permanently given your heart to African children.
