I was watching a movie on the plane en route to Africa.
Blood Diamond depicts the true story of corrupt diamond smuggling from Sierra Leone, Africa. In the movie, a revolutionary militia takes control of the country by slaughtering thousands of the countrymen and dominating by a reign of pure fear. The militia kidnapped children, desensitized them to violence, and brainwashed them into be murderous soldiers. It reminded me of the
Invisible Children documentary of the child soldiers in Uganda. I remember thinking on the plane, “too much reality.”

There is a lot of reality in Africa, and it doesn’t end with a stop button and rolling credits. In America, I could change the channel and forget the reality in Africa, because it seemed so far away and didn’t affect my daily life. It is so easy to forget, or ignore, or avoid. But changing the channel does not change the world. It does nothing to help anyone. It just helps me sleep better at night.

If you kind of want to know, then keep reading these blogs. See the faces and hear the stories of the starving children and the people dying of AIDS. If you
really want to know, do some research yourself. Read Tom Davis’ blog for more stories, and learn about the war, disease, and extreme poverty that plagues Africa. If you want to know to the point where it changes your life, then come and see for yourself.

There is another reality in Africa. His Name is Jesus. On the plane, a very intelligent British man and I were discussing religion and world politics. We agreed on the economic and political need in Africa, and I spoke of the spiritual need as well. He asked me, “What can Jesus do for Africa?”

Rolland and Heidi Baker are amazing vessels of God’s love and power in Mozambique and southern Africa. Their book,
Always Enough, details their firsthand accounts of how Jesus had healed the blind, deaf, crippled, and even people with AIDS. They tell stories of how Jesus has multiplied food for four people to feed hundreds. There are stories of thousands turning their lives over to Jesus. They tell firsthand accounts of Jesus raising people from the dead. What can Jesus do for Africa? Jesus is the Savior of the world! He is the only One who can save, heal, and restore Africa!

If you kind of want to know, then keep reading these blogs and here my own firsthand accounts of miraculous salvations, healings, and miracles. If you
really want to know, then ready
Always Enough for yourself and hear about how Jesus is saving Mozambique. If you want to know to the point where it changes your life, then start a relationship with the Jesus who still raises people from the dead. Or start praying for people to be healed and believe with faith and expect to see them healed! God wants to break out of the box that we have made for Him. He wants you to truly know the reality that He lives and is actively involved in our world and in our lives.

The choice is yours. How much do you want to know?
